Next CALM meeting

The next meeting will be held at the Post and Courier at 134 Columbus St., Charleston. June 22, 2011 at 3:00 pm. Discussion will include planning for a Web2.0 workshop to be held in October.

May 2011 Meeting

The next CALM meeting will be at 2:00pm, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Karpeles Museum, 68 Spring Street in Charleston. Free parking to left of building. For details, call 853-4651.

January 2011 Meeting

Please join us for the next meeting at the The Catholic Diocese of Charleston Archives Wed, Jan. 12 at 2:00 p.m. You can park in the lot adjacent to the church (go through the iron gates).

Secession and the Civil War: Exploring Charleston's Historical Collections

Charleston Archives, Libraries and Museums Council (CALM) will be hosting an event December 14, 2010 on The Citadel campus in Bond Hall 165 from 5:30-7:00p.m. Featured scheduled speakers include representatives from The Charleston Museum, College of Charleston, Avery Research Center, The South Carolina Historical Society, The Citadel Archives & Museum, The Catholic Diocese of Charleston Archives, Medical University of South Carolina Archives, Historic Charleston Foundation, The Charleston Archive at the Charleston County Public Library, and the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum. Representatives will be highlighting their collections and artifacts that hold significance to the upcoming sesquicentennial commemorations of the Secession and the American Civil War. After the event, links to collections and other information will be posted.

November 2010 Meeting

The November 30 meeting will be at the Clare Boothe Luce Library at Mepkin Abbey (1098 Mepkin Abbey Road, 29461) at 2:00. There is a noon prayer session that you are welcome to join. October 2010 Meeting

The October 20 meeting will be at Charleston Records Management at 2:30 on Wednesday. They are located at 1903 Savannah Highway (on the corner of Dupont and Savannah Hwy) in a one-story white building. There is no name outside that identifies the building as being the Records Mgmt building. Parking should be available alongside the building. See you then!
